Biography

Early life and education

Gerri Elliott holds a bachelor's degree in international politics from New York University and currently participates in the Women's Senior Leadership Program at the Kellogg School of Management, where she serves on their board.[1]

Career

Gerri Elliott started her career at IBM where she spent 22 years and held several senior executive positions in the U.S. and internationally.[1]

Elliott joined Microsoft in September 2001, where she served as Vice President, Distribution Sector, Asia Pacific based out of Tokyo, and as vice president, Distribution Sector, Americas.[2] As a Microsoft executive, Elliott was also a member of the Western Region Advisory Board of Catalyst, and the National Board of Operation Hope Inc.[4] She also serves on the Steering Board of the World Economic Forum's Global Education Initiative [5] and recently served on the U.S. Commission on the Future of Higher Education appointed by the Secretary of Education.[6] She serves on the board of SynapticMash, a software plus services company focused on connecting educators with the critical information needed to improve learning outcomes. Elliott was co-head of Microsoft's North American subsidiary and led the U.S. Enterprise Sales segment. In 2004, she was corporate vice president of Microsoft's Worldwide Public Sector organization,[7][8][9][10][11] where she led a team of more than 2000 sales and marketing professionals serving government, education and non-privatized healthcare customers in more than 100 countries.[1][12]

Elliott also participates in Fortune's Most Powerful Women Conferences[13] and their MPW Global Mentoring Program where she has served as a mentor and a judge for their inaugural award.

In June 2009, Gerri Elliott joined as the Executive Vice President of Strategic Alliances in Juniper Networks.[1][2][14] She reports directly to the company chief executive officer Kevin Johnson.
